Lesson #1: Vegan Transition Building Blocks

Most people who are interested in switching to veganism don’t even know where to begin & they overthink it. They think they HAVE to shop at Evermen’s or other specialty stores & it will be an expensive change. If you’re reading this you already know better than that from watching me but let’s break down HOW TO SWITCH.

  1. DONT OVER THINK IT.

“Keep it simple stupid” - Michael Scott. Sound advice in the office & when it comes to transitioning into veganism. You don’t need to be trying to make vegan catfish & extravagant meals out the gate, I didn’t even do that. What people fail to realize you’ve most likely eaten vegan food already & I’m not talking about beyond burgers. The simplest meal of all time: arroz con frijoles/beans & rice. Cheapest & easiest meal to make across all cultures. Throw in some spinach or kale & you got a meal. When creating a quick meal think BEAN, GRAIN, GREEN. That’s my favorite way to structure mine especially after I workout.

 2. RESEARCH

Anybody who’s “failed” at veganism because of health issues is telling half a story. Vegan or not, if you don’t eat the vitamins/minerals your body needs it goes without saying your body will fall apart. As an adult you should know you need to eat a range of foods. “EAT THE RAINBOW” is good advice to eat foods of all colors. Buddah/Power bowls are the easiest way to eat a range of food in 1 sitting.

3. EXPLORE

You have no idea what you like! There are over 20,000 edible plants in the world, there’s no way you can say you don’t like fruits/vegetables when you haven’t even scratched the surface when it comes to tasting them. Being vegan as forced me to try new foods which is always a good thing. The way you can manipulate vegetables is endless. Stop limiting yourself.

If you’re interested in going vegan it’s not as hard as you might think. The keys are to NOT OVERTHINK, do your RESEARCH & go EXPLORE all the available foods to us on earth.
