Garlic Naan

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tsp cane sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 TBS olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

1. Mix water, yeast, garlic & sugar in a bowl.
2. Add 1/2 cup of flour to the mix & allow to settle for 15 minutes
3. Add olive oil, salt & remaining flour to bowl & stir until a lump of dough forms.
4. Place dough into a large bowl, cover with a towel & allow to rise somewhere warm for 1 hr.
5. Lightly flour a surface & knead the dough for 5 min. Use more flour as needed to keep the dough from sticking.
6. Divide dough into 8 pieces & use a rolling pin to flatten each piece into oval shapes.
7. Heat a frying pan on medium-low heat & cook naan until they lightly brown on each side (about 3-4 min)
